Salzgitter Mannesmann Grobblech GmbH domiciled in Mülheim an der Ruhr is a wholly owned subsidiary of Salzgitter AG. It comprises diverse divisions, with the quarto plate mill constituting its main business area. Drawing from over 130 years' production expertise, the Mülheim location processes over 800,000 t of steel per year. The main product – plate for the manufacture of large-diameter line pipe – is used in renowned pipeline projects (e.g. Nord Stream) around the world. The materials processed cover a comprehensive range, from conventional structural steels to offshore grades for wind energy facilities and steels for pressure vessels – all in a broad spectrum of qualities and dimensions.

At the pipe bending plant of Salzgitter Mannesmann Grobblech GmbH, seamless and welded steel pipes made of carbon, alloyed and high-alloy steels are precision tailored to the customer's specifications using the induction bending process. Given the wide range of dimensions covered, this places exacting demands on the quality of our pipe materials and manufacturing processes. Thanks to the ongoing optimization of the induction bending process in cooperation with Salzgitter Mannesmann Forschung GmbH, the process-controlled bending plant in Mülheim ranks among the world's most efficient facilities of its kind. Our vast experience with this process makes us a competent partner, capable of offering you professional advice on all related questions.
